Setting up Eudora to use T.Apple
as your primary email account

  1. Obtain a version of Eudora either by downloading it from www.eudora.com or by bringing a disk to a User Group meeting,
  2. Uncompress and install the program on your computer (if necessary) by dragging it to Stuffit Expander.
  3. Run the Eudora program. If this is the first time you've used Eudora on your computer, it will automatically open the 'Getting Started' section of the settings. If you've used Eudora on your computer before, go to the 'Special' menu and select 'Settings...' and make sure that you are in the 'Getting Started' window.
  4. In the 'POP Account' box, put youraccountname@tapple.org
  5. In the 'Real Name' box, put your real name.
  6. In turn, click on 'Personal Information', 'Hosts', 'Checking Mail', and 'Sending Mail'. There is no need to enter anything in the Return Address or SMTP Server boxes.
  7. Click on OK to close the 'Settings...' window.
  8. Go to the 'File' menu and select 'Check Mail...'. Enter your password and everything should be working.

If Eudora gives you an error, check all the steps above before emailing: bob@tapple.org

A few common problems are:

  1. Make sure your modem is still connected before you try to check your email.
  2. You typed your password incorrectly when you checked your email.
  3. You incorrectly entered your account information in the Eudora Settings.
